Tactical Edge is the Close Combat System created by Mark Davies. It is the result of 30 years of martial arts training, & 19 years applying that training in literally thousands of violent incidents. Tactical Edge was originally created by Mark as an effective method of Close Combat for Special Forces soldiers. It has been combat tested & battle proven in some of the worlds worst places, & is the method of close combat used by elements of UK Special Forces. Mark Davies has taught Close Combat to operators from Special Forces & Government Agencies from around the world. He is currently a Close Combat Instructor with elements of UKSF.

Mark is an expert on how violence actually occurs in real life. He spent 19 years working pub & nightcub doors internationally, bodyguarding in high risk VIP protection, & working with Special Forces. All this experience has lead to the training methodologies found within Tactical Edge.

Tactical Edge is a 'conceptual system' based not on set techniques but on certain precepts & concepts that if followed will lead to victory in a confrontation. In combatives training 'one size does not fit all'. In traditional martial arts you are practising a 'style', so you have to adhere to the way that style practices its techniques & to the techniques performed in its curriculum. Tactical Edge is moulded to the student depending on their age, size, build, ability etc.

Our Tactical Edge class is a fascinating exploration of the worlds fighting arts & human conflict. Its not just another reality based system where its all about bludgeoning an opponent like neanderthal man (when your only tool is a hammer every problem looks like a nail); its a skill based system that has a wide range of options open to the practitioner so you can handle situations with the correct level of force (think scalpel rather than hammer).

Training in Tactical Edge you'll learn effective striking & takedown techniques. You'll learn about how violent offenders act, their body language, how they set up victims, & how to avoid them. You'll learn how to counter any type of situation or attack, both unarmed & armed. You'll learn defensive weapons skills, & use attribute drills to boost your skills & abilities.

A major part of what we teach is drawn from Master at Arms James A Keating's ComTech system. Master at Arms James Keating is widely regarded as the WORLDS LEADING authority on edged weapons arts, & their practical application! Mark Davies is the only instructor in Europe certified by James Keating as a full instructor, & he is James Keatings European Affiliate. Mark has been a private student of his friend & teacher James Keating for several years now, & he travels to the USA a few times every year to stay with him & continue his studies & advanced training.
