Little Ninjas is a fantastic life skills & martial arts system designed specially for children normally too young to really study martial arts. Little Ninjas aims to teach children between the ages of 4 & 8 positive life skills & attributes that will serve them well for the rest of their lifes.
Our Little Ninjas programme was the first class of its type in Tayside. It is the original & best Martial Arts & Lifeskills programme for young children. Since we started teaching our Little Ninjas programme some other imitations have sprung up, but according to mums & dads who have had children in these classes & moved them to ours, they're not a patch on Little Ninjas.
Normally a childrens martial arts class is just the normal adults martial arts class taught with a few games thrown in. Little Ninjas is different; Little Ninjas was specially designed from the ground up specifically for the 4 - 8 year old stage of development. The techniques they are taught are specially selected, as their nervous system is often not quite developed enough to do some martial arts techniques. Special games & drills are used to teach the children lifeskills in a way that they can understand & relate to.
In each class we emphasise one of the '8 Little Ninjas Skills', Discipline, Control, Focus, Balance, Co-ordination, Teamwork, Fitness & Memory.
We also give the students regular stranger=Danger instruction, & work to build high self esteem in the children to avoid bullying problems. We are aware that many of the schools in Angus have a REAL & LARGE bullying problem, & many of our students have been sent to us after being the victims of bullying. We actively teach our Little Ninjas how to break the cycle that leads to bullying, & also simple self defence skills to stop bullys from hurting them.
Our Little Ninjas work on one 'Ninja Skill' per week over an eight week period, they then spend a few weeks working on 'Safety Skills'- Stranger = Danger, Anti Bullying, Fire Safety, Water Safety etc. Once the Little Ninja has completed their Ninja & Safety Skills they are allowed to sit their belt grading. We host a 'Ninja Graduation' where Little Ninjas can bring their parents, relatives & friends & show them what they have learned. Think how your child will feel as they receive their belt & certificate in front of ALL the other Little Ninjas & spectators. It's a powerful moment they will remember for the rest of their lives.
